Flowers and decorations at hotels and beach locations are usually arranged by the individual venue in conjunction with your wishes. Whatever the arrangements we are very happy to conduct your service, however flowers or other decorations should not disrupt the ceremony or constitute a danger to the wedding party or guests. Examples might be large amounts of flowers on the ceremony table, decorations blocking an aisle or trailing ribbons blowing across the ceremony area or creating trip hazards.
If you are planning your own flowers or decorations at any of our Churches, please let our wedding coordinator know to ensure that they are sympathetic to the venue, and to best enhance your day - flowers may not be placed on the altar itself and all flowers and decorations must be removed immediately following your service as these venues are in constant use for other services.
Permanent fixings are not permitted but, for example, bows or flowers placed at regular intervals along the length of the aisle can be attached with ribbon or string (not tape), and can be removed easily and quickly without damaging any of the church furnishings.
The use of a runner is discouraged because it increases the risk of tripping, especially if the venue is unfamiliar to many of the party.
As an active parish church, Ayia Kyriaki may already have plants, flowers or hangings in place, in keeping with the seasons of the liturgical year. These must remain but you are welcome to add your own temporary decorations in keeping with the existing arrangements. Our wedding coordinator can assist you with any questions you have regarding this.
